Dealing with Sins

A point that I enjoyed during the conference was that we should never let ourselves be past feeling. To be past feeling is to have so many sins piled upon your conscience that you are not able to feel bad about your sins because your conscience is numb and bogged down with sin. Before hearing this word I was very discouraged because throughout my day it seemed that as soon as I confessed and repented one sin to the Lord I would sin that same sin a few moments later. I just felt that there was no point in dealing with my sins because I was only going to re-visit the same sins later on in the day. Thus I began to give less and less attention to my conscience and allowed myself to sin without dealing with my sins for days at a time. Then I heard this vital sharing form the brothers. They said that it is inevitable that we will sin and fail. We are human and imperfect so sin will be a constant hindrance throughout our lives. But being past feeling means that we don’t have a sense from our conscience anymore concerning right and wrong. When one is past feeling he can now easily commit sins that were once hard for him to commit because his conscience is now numb and bogged down with sin. This means that we need to make sure that we are constantly dealing with our sins before the Lord. We should have the false concept that we can let our sins pile up and then deal with them. We need to handle them the very moment that we receive a feeling from the Lord concerning them. This word served as an encouragement to me in my daily life. I sin constantly and repeatedly throughout the day. I even sin unintentionally by hearing or seeing something that defiles me. This word shows me that constantly dealing with my sins is not a frivolous matter. It causes us to be right before the Lord and before men. We simply need to take the Lord as our life by regularly getting into His Word and calling on His name. This will help to keep our conscience strong and our sins dealt with. Praise the Lord saints! Let us have a proper dealing with our sins and press on in the Lord!
