Fellowship -- Greece June 99

Dear Saints, Grace to you. Recently we have been reminded of the words of the ministry, that our Father God is the source of all blessing. Seeing this, we should not be prayerless in His work, rather we should do everything by prayer, with prayer, and through prayer. Whatever we do and whatever we are should not be according to our own wisdom, strength and ability, but should be by the grace, power, and strength of the Lord, so that we have no boast in ourselves but only in the Lord. We had a very good fellowship and prayer time with Brother A., who comes from a seeking Christian family. He enjoys fellowshipping with us and wants us to pray for him for the Lord's leading. He has been hoping for a revival in Greece. We pray that the Lord would really lead him to realize that he is a member in the Body and a branch in the Vine, and that the way to a real revival is not relying on a few gifted persons, but through every member functioning in the Body of Christ. This brother also invited us to share in a home meeting in a nearby village. We were touched to see that even in a village, the Lord has gained some to come back to His pure word out of Orthodoxy. We shared our testimonies, and a part of "The Economy of God" with them. It's a pity that the Modern Greek translation of the New Testament (the Greek of Paul's time is no longer understood by many today in Greece) does not have the word "oikonomia" in 1 Timothy 1:4, but another word which means "building". We pointed out the ancient Greek word to them and they were quite surprised. May they be recovered to this central mark through our continual contact with them. The Europeans who are students here will begin to leave on 15 July. We will stay in contact with a German brother, who regularly attended our vital group meetings here, and hope to see him in a European conference in the future. There are 2 others that we are burdened to contact before they leave as well. The Greek students have already started their summer vacation. We encouraged them to continue reading the Bible by themselves during this time. Lord, make them as newborn babes, longing for the guileless milk of the word, that they may grow unto salvation. A newborn babe, Brother S. is going with two of us to Taiwan and Malaysia in mid-July for three weeks. We pray that he will pick up some basic life practises, like praying, reading the Bible, morning revival and meeting, during his time with us. May the Lord also open his eyes to see a very different yet meaningful life of the college saints there. There are some who will be here during the summer, who we will remain in fellowship with. Please pray that Brother T. would get a vision this summer of what the Lord is doing on the earth today. Our times of fellowship have been so encouraging & annointed. Concerning the application to be registered as a non-profit organization, we thank you for your interceding. The application was not successful because the tax office would not pass some of the articles about selling books. This is due to the fact that too many people here use the non-profit name to actually do a profit business. Therefore the tax office has become very strict over these past one to two years. If they see something about selling or buying, they would not accept the application. So, we are now discussing other ways to import the books directly from the States. May the Lord have His way to spread His high truth in this country. Please continue to also remember Sister R's application for a work & residence permit. The documents are being submitted this week by the director of the school she teaches at. Yours in Christ,
