Subject: Storehouse Stories

Six volunteers from Amana Christian Bookstore went on a RcV gospel trip to Angels Camp and Murphys (small towns located Northern California).

We left Berkeley at noon on Friday and came home the next day at 5:30pm. Most of the time (about 4 hours) we went out door-knocking 2 by 2 or 3 by 3. We sold 15 RcVs and made many good contacts. Here are the highlights: While selling a RcV to a couple at their front door a man drove up to the couple's house in a quick way. We recognized the car from a house a block down the road. We had sold a Bible to the women at that house too. We were afraid that the man was negative or something so we were a bit anxious, not wanting to alarm the couple whom we were talking to. After we finished selling the Bible to the couple, we talked to the man, who was beside his car waiting for us. Apparently he was a guest at the woman's house, and when he saw that the Bible she had just purchased was a RcV he ran out of the house, jumped into his car and drove down the street to find us. He has the old version of the RcV and was so excited that there were people who read Witness Lee. He said, "that man [W. Lee] has got it.

There is no need to look any further because the man has got the right interpretation."  He asked us if there were any others in the area who read Witness Lee. He also invited us to his home when we come during the next gospel trip. One woman warmly welcomed us into her home. Her elderly father had just died and she had been praying to the Lord that He would send her some kind of sign. She was sure that we were the answer to her prayers. She purchased two RcVs and welcomed us to come back the next time we were in town. We prayed for her afterwards, and she was really strengthened. One of the volunteers wanted to visit a home that he had visited about three years ago on another gospel trip. At that time he had talked to a man who was recovering from a heart attack and heart surgery.

The volunteer remembered that the man was open but did not remember if he received the Lord. This time we asked the wife who answered the door how the husband was doing. She said that he had died three years ago shortly after his heart attack. We must have visited him shortly before he died.  We were impressed with the importance of our going out to preach the gospel by selling the RcVs. We realized that we might be the last chance the people we visit will ever have of receiving the eternal life. Driving back and feeling a bit sleepy in the hot afternoon we pulled over to get some coffee at an Espresso shop in Escalon. One of the volunteers shared the RcV with footnotes to the three workers behind the counter.  After they each purchased one we began to pray for them. Just then the place started to get busy, but we didn't care. We just kept praying out loud and all the customers were subdued and kindly waited for us to finish praying for the workers before placing their orders. Praise the Lord!
